Monday Morning Manifesto

A Monday Morning Manifesto

Not so much a manifesto but just a collection of observations.

Dimon McFerson, President of the Olentangy Local Board of Education, announced at the OLSD Board meeting that he has cancer. McFerson shared that he is seeking treatment at the James Cancer Hospital. He noted “I am optimistic and very confident in my treatment. Olentangy is well staffed in with a superintendent who is off to a great start, with a new treasurer and a wonderful staff." McFerson is the former President of Nationwide as well as an OSU Trustee. We wish him the best.

As a followup to yesterday's post on Urban Sprawl, here the website for the Sawmill Parkway extension. It's pretty good information. Here's another telling graphic that demonstrates the lack of progress being made in improving transportation in Southern Delaware County.

A busy week in the area starts today with Memorial Day and the parade in Powell. Firetrucks, Boy and Girl Scout troops, and politicians. What was pretty interesting was a major presence in the parade of Sherrod Brown's campaign... with no Mike DeWine campaign sightings. With Brown trailing in the polls, this may be a good way to build his name recognition as we approach the campaign season.

Also on tap this week:
  • - The Memorial Golf Tournament at Dublin and Columbus Arts Festival and more this week.
